1993 ഡിസംബര്‍ 12 തീയതി കോട്ടയത്ത് ദര്‍ശന ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില്‍ നടന്ന പ്രവര്‍ത്തക സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍, വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി യുവജന പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലൂടെ സംഘടനാശേഷി തെളിയിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ഉയര്‍ന്നുവന്ന, ഏറ്റവും നല്ല നിയമസമാജികനായ, ഭരണനിര്‍വ്വഹണത്തില്‍ കരുത്തനുമായ Sri.T M Jacob നെ ലീഡറായി അംഗീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കേരളാ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പാര്‍ട്ടിയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ശക്തമാക്കുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. കേന്ദ്രതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുകമ്മീഷന്‍ കേരളാകോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് ജേക്കബ്ബ് എന്ന പേരില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതിന് അംഗികാരം നല്‍കി.
